Ten Days That Shook the Kitchen

Do you enjoy theatre?

Do you enjoy a fun night out?

If the answer is “yes” then let Rolleston Pre School entertain you with their next Event (courtesy of Live and Local):

TEN DAYS THAT SHOOK THE KITCHEN - A Ginny Davis Production

TEN DAYS That Shook the Kitchen! Describes ten days in the life of Ruth Richan ordinary mum of three who in response to a magazine article starts to write a diary. You’ll recognise the familiar packed schedule of mums everywhere – swimming lessons, supermarket, shopping, PTA meetings, visits by the gruesome in-laws, whingeing kids, hard-to-live-up-to best friend. It’s all given a hilarious twist when she prangs the car into delectable Milly’s Dad’s BMW. Their eyes meet…he asks her out….Will she?! Think Bridget Jones’s Diary meets My Family!
Ginny cleverly portrays every single character (and there are quite a few). Mums all over the country will recognise themselves and hopefully the stroppy teenagers out there will realise how hectic their Mum’s life really is especially when it comes to saving their embarrassment when her husband decides to impersonate Elvis!

This One-woman show comes highly recommended to us after a sell-out tour at the Edinburgh festival Fringe last year.

This show aims to be a great night out – so escape from you busy schedule, especially all those mums, and give yourselves a treat!

Venue – John of Rolleston School, Alderbrook Site, Rolleston on Dove
Date – Friday 2nd October
Time 7.30 PM
Ticket costs – Adults £7.50 OAP’s £5.00 Child 8 yrs to 15 yrs £5.00 – Available from Pre-School or Sharon Harrison 01283 810321

Sponsored Bounce

Well done to all the children who completed the sponsored bounce obstacle course this year. We finally had some sunshine after many days of rain and were able to hold the event later than planned. Lots of jumping, skipping, balancing and racing was required and every child performed brilliantly (as did all of the supportive parents and grandparents cheering them on!)

Thank you to everyone who raised sponsorship money. The event raised over £700 for Pre-School funds – a really outstanding achievement.

If you have not yet handed in your sponsorship money, please can you drop it into Pre-School asap.

Thanks and well done again!

Thank you to everyone who has made use of the clothing recycling bank situated in the Spread Eagle car park. So far, the Pre-School has raised over £200 through donated clothes and shoes – a marvelous effort!

If you haven’t yet used this facility, or have caught the wardrobe decluttering bug, please do drop off any unwanted clothes or shoes, in any condition, to the recycling bank. All proceeds are towards the Rolleston Pre-School New Build Fund.

Labour MP visits Pre-School

We were delighted to welcome Labour MP, Janet Dean to our Pre-School on Friday 19th June 2009, to discuss the Rolleston Pre-School New Build Project. Ms Dean met members of the Staff, Committee, children and parents to learn more about our fundraising appeal and the educational and welfare benefits our Pre-School has on the village and surrounding areas.

Ms Dean stated her belief in children having the right to accessing high quality Pre-School education locally and will be seeing what she can do to help our cause.

The Burton Mail covered the visit in an article here. Many thanks to all who were involved in the visit, especially Janet Dean MP who took time out of her busy schedule to meet us.

Green Light Clothes Bank

Did you know that the average person wears only 30% of the clothes in their wardrobe? Why not put the remaining 70% to very good use and donate them to Rolleston Pre-School.

In conjunction with Green Light Enterprises and the Spread Eagle pub, Rolleston Pre-School is delighted to announce the arrival of a new clothing bank. Sited in the Spread Eagle Car Park, people can donate bags of unwanted clothing into the bank. This will be collected on a weekly basis by Green Light, and the Pre-School will gain a large donation for every ton collected.

The money raised will be donated to the Rolleston Pre-School New Build Fund.

So what better excuse to give your wardrobe a good spring clean? Please donate any unwanted clothes, in any condition, to the Pre-School bank at the Spread Eagle.

Thank you.
